Weekly progress + plan

 This is my weekly progress for my new project

Week 1: This week we learned about film industries; how they are produced, distributed and exhibited. We also set up our new blog for this project about creating an opening scene to our film.

Week 2: - On tuesday we did a more in depth and big research towards our genre, we chose a movie that we wanted to research and had to write things about conventions, and representation which is simillar to what we did last term, I will admit I don't know too much about the movie I'm doing to go very in depth, but I think it's my best shot when I have to consider the genre I'm trying to go for and having to choose a movie that also follows it. I still struggle trying to put in techincal elements especially when it comes to things like editing and camera so I'll have to catch up on that. I also probably need to watch a bit of movie intros to get my mind marinated to this genre I wanna do.

Week 3: We did an in- depth research on several media texts that influenced our project.

Week 4: We worked on our statement of intent and we learnt further in depth about media consolidation, we learnt about things like vertical and horizontal integration, cross-media convergence, and synergy as well was how those things benefit the audience and the media companies themselves, then we did a classwork in where we had to research our own case study about which 2 companies did synergy together and how it benefited them and the audience.

Week 5: Today we started on our essential planning for project: Script, Storyboard, Screenplay etc.

Week 6: We finalized everything,

Reflection

It was a really fun term, I learned so much, I cannot wait for next term to film our media movie opening project.

This is a new semester, I will continue my weekly progress here starting again at week one (new semester)

Week 1:

We had to recreate  a movie scene from our movie of choice and we chose fight club. It was a short, yet fun mini- activity and we learned so much 

Week 2

We practiced continuity editing, and learned the four audience theory, cultivation, desenzitasation, social learning, and reception. This will improve our knowledge about the audience and how we can implement this theory for our opening scene to conform to the dominant reading audience.

Week 3

In this week we learned about gender theories in media, the theorist are Judith Butler, Van Zoonen, and Laura malvey. This allows us to broaden our knowledge regarding how genders are shown in media and the stereotypes which are presented.

Week 4

We only had one lesson this week which was a project lesson because of Chinese new year holiday, so we did not do really do much except for continuing our editing and our project blog.

Week 5

This week was a holiday and we did not really do anything 

Week 6

Due to an unfortunate natural anomaly, and a one day holiday, we stayed home and planned our ccr through zoom calls.

Week 7

We prepared for mock exam and reviewed every theory that we have learned, and did our mock exam the day after, then we went on to continue our ccr.

Week 8

We prepared for our second mock exam and then we did our mock exam the next day, which felt like an improvement from the first one. Then on the last day we continued with out project

Week 9

This week was an urgent day, we did our final mock test and we had to reshoot a few scenes as well as shooting some extra scenes after Mr Nick criticized our final media opening

Week 10

This is the final week of our media film opening submission, we finalized our ccr and refined our blogpost. It is a stressful week but I managed to get things done.
