  This Is My Research: Industry For My Comp 1 Project.

What Genre am I working in?:

- My group has decided to go with a crime/drama genre for our project.

Do I want my film to be niche or mainstream:

- We're torn between our options, as each has its own drawbacks. Choosing mainstream could raise expectations for our media text's quality due to substantial funding, while choosing niche could limit our creative freedom by requiring us to comply to specific filmmaking styles.

- After careful consideration, I would like for my group's project to be niche, so we can express our creativity and have a special style of filming, and also due to the fact that it is impossible for us to compete with multi-million dollar mainstream company in terms of quality and budget, so choosing niche would be the wiser decision.

What company would most likely produce my media text in the real world?:

-  I think company like Lionsgate Studios would likely consider producing our media text, since the company has produced multiple films with the same genre as ours such as American Psycho.

What other media text did they produce?:

- Hunger Games, Now You see me etc

Reflection

It was a tough decision for us to decide if  we want our film to be niche or mainstream, however, after a long and careful consideration, we decided to go for niche since mainstream is usually associated with high budget, which we clearly do not have as a high school student.
